1. Information We Collect
When you use Forwardly, we collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, learning goals, course progress, quiz results, flashcard performance, and AI chat history. We also collect device information (device model, OS version, app version) and usage data (features used, session duration, crash logs) to improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data powers your learning experience. We use it to generate personalized courses, adapt your study schedule, calculate spaced-repetition intervals, power the AI coach, track your XP and streaks, and improve our AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. AI Processing
Forwardly uses AI models (including MiniMax-M2.7) to generate course content, flashcards, quizzes, and personalized coaching. Your learning inputs are transmitted to our secure AI proxy servers for processing. We do not use your data to train third-party foundation models. AI-generated content is clearly labeled as such within the app.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Forwardly: Appwrite (database & authentication), RevenueCat (subscription management), Sentry (crash reporting), and Mixpanel (analytics). Each provider is contractually bound to data processing terms compliant with GDPR. We never sell your data.
5. Cookies & Tracking
Our marketing website uses minimal cookies for analytics (page views, referral sources). No advertising cookies. The Forwardly mobile app does not use cookies. We use Mixpanel for anonymized product analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. You may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@forwardly.ai. We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR Article 12.
7. Your Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to opt out of its sale (which we do not do), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Submit CCPA requests to privacy@forwardly.ai.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except for anonymized analytics aggregates. AI chat history and generated courses are deleted immediately upon account deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
Forwardly is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately at privacy@forwardly.ai.
